pgpool2 software package provides connection pool server and replication proxy for PostgreSQL, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pgpool2
pgpool2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pgpool2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pgpool2 *
You will get with pgpool2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
